Let me get this out of the way now: it doesn’t matter that Superman is (seemingly) invincible. His powers aren’t the point of his character. The point is this: Superman can punch somebody into outer space, burn them to ash, and run rings around them with super-speed. He can solve any problem with overwhelming force if he wants to, but he doesn’t, simply because that’s not being a hero—that’s being a bully. You see, more than a Man of Steel, Superman is a man of integrity, and that conflict is what drives his best stories.
That English boarding school sure looks unfriendly. Maybe that’s why Bats had to slug one on the original cover for Batman, Inc. in which this story was to appear. Stephanie is now Spoiler in the story.
